Highlight of the Woman’s Day Cup 2016
Woman are strong, they always have been it’s just that our society fails to realize there worth however women have time and again proven that they can fight all odds and stand out in the crowd.
One such event was witnessed when a team of married women came out to participate and play in the women’s rink football tournament that was organized by Sportnicians -The Sports. These women not only played football but also fed their kids in between the matches’ breaks and put their kids to sleep as well, displaying the true spirit of women and how they can multitask. Guess what the icing on the cake was, well we even had the husbands cheer for their womenfolk and take care of the babies while their ladies sweat it out at the game.
These ladies were playing after a gap of 9 years and couple on them had delivered babies via the C-Section just five (5) months ago, however nothing could stop them from playing the game and putting up a great fight.
The team’s name is SEA VIEW and they came all the way to Kandivali just to show their love and passion for the game which they played after a gap of 9yrs Phew!!! Now that’s what I call dedication to the game. Sportnicians – The Sports People salutes these women, more power to you. Respect. Well we’ve seen women leave their dreams behind to build a household but cheers to their families who helped these women play the sport.
Unfortunately the team lost the tournament but to me they are the true winners and as an organizer of the event nothing matters because the smile Sportnicians – The Sports People bought on their faces and the feeling of contentment that they had after being part of the tournament is something money can never buy.

It really highlighted the reason why we organized the Woman’s Day Cup.
You Rock Woman. Go go go Womaniya let nothing ever stop you or push you down.

Republic Day 2016
Sportnicians – The Sports People organized a Rink Football Tournament to celebrate Republic Day 2016 at Goalster FC in the premises of Goregaon Sports Club.
More than 20 teams confirmed their participation and the line boasted of top teams from Mumbai such as:
• Maccabi Tel Aviv
• Kalina Village Boys
• UK United
• Castle Boys
• Indy Italia
• Kalina Rangers
• Mean Machines
• And so on
The tournament was officiated by qualified and experienced referees. The referees ensured that all matches were played in true sportsmanship spirit. All the teams and players accepted all the decisions given by the referees which ensured that the tournament was concluded very smoothly.

• Red Bull was the official energy drink partner and each and every participant along with the spectators was given Red Bull to reenergize them.
• Shivam Sports and Fitness came on board as the Sports Partner.
• Evoque Unisex Salon came on board as the Hair Styling partner.
• Himalaya Chemist came on board as the medical partner.
• Goalster FC was the venue partner.
The winners
• The tournament was won by Maccabi Tel Aviv as they defeated Indy Italia in the hard fought finals.
Prizes
• The winners (Team Maccabi Tel Aviv) pocketed Rs 20,000 along with a glittering winner’s trophy and medals.
• The runners-up team (Team Indy Italia) pocketed Rs 10,000 along with a glittering trophy and medals.

The tournament was a grand success and teams have confirmed their participation for the next tournament to be organized by Sportnicians – The Sports People as they were extremely happy about the event being well organized.
